Specializing in portraiture of many types, I enjoy rendering the essence of my subject, that one certain expression, that twinkle in the eye that makes the man or woman who they are. Working in the media of granite has heightened my awareness of the intricacies of light and how it helps form the human face.

My role as a memorialist is to portray people in the context of what was important to them; family, vocation, home, dreams, etc. It's very satisfying to see the look on a person's face as they see their loved one portrayed in stone forever. Their satisfaction has always been the motivation to do absolutely the best work I can, whether the media is granite, airbrush, pencil, or pen & ink. To illustrate, and thereby celebrate a human life, is a gift that I am thankful to have been given.
